Ahhhh, a warm welcome to that gorgeous sun. Hope you've got the good ol' havianas out and the white legs are getting a wee bit of colour - I know mine need it desperately! Pucker up - this weathers putting us in a good mood and its all about getting out and about this month.
1. Creasion
Did you know that Macarons are the new cupcake?! This hole in the wall, on Alberta St Surry Hills is definitely worth a visit. Run by the cutest guys, sit down on the mini Eames chairs, have a single orgin coffee and try to taste test your way through every. single. flavour. of. macaron. I'm upto flavour number five. The hit so far - the MISO macaron?!
2. The Norfolk
This part of the Slurry is well, a little crazee. But amongst the crazees, lies The Norfolk pub on the corner of Walker and Cleveland St. Head straight through to the rear courtyard and enjoy a $10 mega lunch or some tacos. Even though its a bit of a walk, we've crowned this our local. And dogs can enjoy the courtyard and a bevvy as well.
3. Don Campos
I know the original is not that far away, just a hop, skip and jump over on Missenden Rd. But the newly opened "other" Campos on Fountain St Alexandria gets my tick over the original Campos. One, there's seating - lots of it. Two - there may only be one coffee machine but its pretty quick, whilst the original has been known to take 20 mins - that's not cool, when there's 3 machines going full-grind. Three - you can take ya dog. Hands down, Don Campos is the winner. Well, for us anyway! Pick up a jam donut macaron, they're pretty damn tasty as well.

POP UP ENVY
M.A.S.S.I.V.E jealously over the Black Coffee pop up shop in Melbourne. All the underground stuff happens there, Sydney could we catch up a little?! All I gotta say is we're mightly jealous and would have had many a coffee there whilst it was open. Props. Tre Cool. See more shots here.

My favourite things in July
1. Cow & Moon
This takes the TOP spot, this month and the month before and the one before that. It's no secret, locals have known about this hot-to-trot gelato bar long before The Sydney Royal Easter Show crowned them many a GOLD AND waaay before The Sydney Magazine dubbed them gelato royalty. It's our late night secret, dashes to get a few scoops of creamy, delightful gelato. Yes, the 'lime in the coconut' is pretty-damn-tastic. Our picks are the 'salty caramel banana' or the 'after dinner mint' or the ' malto bliss' aka mars bar. Or the 'panacotta'. Well, you get the drift. This place is the shit, you'll go GAGA for the gelato too.
181 Enmore Rd (Cnr London St), Enmore (opposite the Enmore Theatre)
2. Grandma's Bar
My grandma isn't this hip but she doe's live in a place much bigger than this new small bar. Pint-sized with exposed brick walls, yellow retro wallpaper, hot mulled wine with fan-dangle jaffles - it's small in size but large in attitude. Jam-packed at 6pm, you're gonna have to be in-it-to-win-it or merely willing to play a some-musical-chairs 'cause it's the HOT SPOT Sydneysiders are loving. The vibe is relaxed the staff very friendly, the drink list - oh yeah - not so small at all. If only it has grandpa's next door?!

3. Siphons at Single Origin Sideshow
Didn't you know lattes are so nineteen nineties? It's all about the smooth, crisp taste of a siphon coffee. A 1950s contraption brought back into the coffee world to make our taste buds dance with the REAL bean taste. Hot water carefully siphoned from bottom section through the coffee in the top section then back down to the bottom section over a flame. Don't ask how it works, we failed physics BUT we do know the taste is smooth and clean - the milk can find another home elsewhere. Try it. The barista boys surely will look after you.
