Outdoor for Oakheart

We've been very busy little bees at 31STHQ, we've been doing A LOT of outdoor. And you'll see some of our work all around the East Coast of Oz.

Here's a few snaps of the Outdoor component our campaign for Bacardi Oakheart - the newest spiced rum to hit the market. If you haven't tried one, definitely try an Oak-n-Cola when you're out and about next. It's really smooth, smoky with an overtone of sweetness. There is also a heap of sampling activity happening at over 100 venues this month head over to the Bacardi Oakheart Page to find a location near you.

And remember to drink responsibly!

The Dreamers' Supply Co.

The Dreamers' Supply Co, based in London are a series of products designed to spark the thinking of young creatives and entrepreneurs.

We love the branding and the concept for the company - creative thinking tools and aids. We love that they are small packaged goods that help spark creative thinking. But we're not sure 'a cup full of wisdom' is going to bring on that next big idea or a 'sleep on it' pillow will actually help spark new concepts for the morning.

Are these just nicely packaged up ideas?
Would you buy these products to spark your inner creative?
Or are these more quirky creative puns turned into products?

Our favourite things in October

1. The Snag Stand
Ever since our weekly BBQs have gone, we've had to get our snag fix elsewhere (there's still hope our 31ST BBQs will make a comeback). Our favourite not-cooked-at-home-on-the-barbie-snag is from The Snag Stand at Westfield Sydney's food court. So many to choose from, so many combos; naked or tucked in - the choice is yours. And don't forget the chips - seriously yum.

2. Mini Chef Cookbook Series
This pre-christmas chef's cookbook series is genius. The covers are so simple with a limited colour plate with some clean type - so effective. And at only $20 each we can have one of each - so santa put this on our list! These were spotted at Pentimento on King St Newtown, but we're sure your local bookstore has these as well.

The Turtleshell

Apart from a somewhat cheesy video for this Kickstarter product called the Turtleshell - the product actually has legs and we're inclined to support it and test this little do-dah out. What's another gadget to add to the list of 'things we need'.

PLUS it would look great at 31STHQ. Maybe one in every colour perhaps?!

STUDIO Competition

Here's a little comp to get all your creative juices flowing. The deadline is looming - so hop to it. It's also a chance to see your work on the country's most famous billboard, literally your-name-in-lights AND a tailored mentorship package. A pretty good prize along with the 10K cashola!

Turn Back Time

Don't you wish that you could be 5 again? Just for a small moment. We do.

Y'see with so many Mums & Dads at 31STHQ we are always admiring the cuteness of their kids. With Halloween approaching this little DIY make us want to turn back time, just for an-una-momento so we could make sweet costumes like this, then wear them. Frankly, peeps our age just wouldn't be able to pull these off.

They are from the super cool Wee people and you can download and make them yourself - even cooler. We adore these. Would you turn back time just to put these sweet-ass costumes on?

Your Better Half

We adore the style of this blog by Amanda Jane Jones. It keeps it short n' sweet and the graphics remind us of that Will Ferrell movie, Stranger Than Fiction but not so techy *phew*.

It's content is cute, easy to read and give us facts about 'your other half' that may be a little left of centre. Bam, exactly what us creatives at 31STHQ love - the quirky detail...

Currently blog-obsessing...

We read a lot of blogs at 31STHQ. As they say, "you are always learning" and we certainly follow that mantra. Currently in the hot spot is this blog. Why?

Cause it has a bit of DIY.
Cause it has great photography.
Cause it has a wee bit of shopping (online, the way we like it).
Cause it makes us smile.

And the how-to child's flower costume... total swoon.
All round blog-tastic.

Here's why.

Movie Apps

Who would've thought that apps would be used to promote movies.

This app takes it a whole other level. Watch the video below to find out more - are you a fan or is it a bit gimicky? Would you download it and become "part of the Sapphire Story"?

Travelling Bikes

Who likes a G&T? Hands up. You wouldn't get too many people who'd turn down that offer.

This niche concept is fantastic. One type of drink (you guessed it) a G&T, two guys and a bike. They pedal to your venue and set up a pop up bar, bikes et al with an array of Gins on offer. Do I hear a big cheer?!

Simple, portable and a great alternative to the usual "pop up bar". Now can we order them to pedal down under? Probably not. But it's a neat idea.

Infographics n' coffee cups

This is a great campaign that combines computer generated infographics and takes the idea of instant personalisation to the next level. Graphics are generated using live visualisation as the coffee gets brewed - the label is then attached to the coffee cup prior to tasting. Pretty crazy stuff.

We love the concept but would it make you buy the machine? And does the campaign show the full functionality of the machine or is it just a whole heap of pretty graphics?

Our favourite things in September

*Ahhhh-choooo* Spring is definitely well and truly here. Aren't you lovin' it. We sure are, that sunshine is so good looking - we just want to move our macs into the street but alas reflections on the screens wouldn't make our jobs easy?! Here's what we're getting up to this month...

1. Coffees at Corduroy
Tiny bars and tiny coffee shops make us stop n' stay. This newbie (well about 6 months old) is part of the Little Marionette family and has super cute button stools and does a hell-tasty piccolo.

Cocktails meet clothes with a splash of fruit

Clever, clever art direction. There are no models and no fancy lighting. This series titled "cocktails" really does deliver without the good-looking models we're used to. This out-of-the-box thinking is brilliant and shows that an idea and styling can deliver exceptional results - and deliver within budget (we assume!!!). Top marks!
