Clever, clever art direction. There are no models and no fancy lighting. This series titled "cocktails" really does deliver without the good-looking models we're used to. This out-of-the-box thinking is brilliant and shows that an idea and styling can deliver exceptional results - and deliver within budget (we assume!!!). Top marks!

Design Thinking

We're suckers for a good doco. This one is right up our alley and really explores how design thinking has changed and the notion that you don't necessarily need to be a "creative" to produce great design thinking that can ultimately lead to cracker ideas. Here's the trailer...

Jen Ullrich's Collages

I know the games are over (and by gosh we are super happy there's more of our kinda shows on TV!).

We stumbled across these clever collages by German artist Jens Ullrich. We love the paste up style of the collage and how she has managed to fit the old (rather rigid) bodies with the new (more flexible) bodies. Makes us appreciate how talented athletes are and how much strain is put on their bodies. Clever stuff!

Motivational Impressions

Love these motivational impressions, we're dreaming up a set for us at 31ST HQ, that we can use - just as a random pep up or to stamp over artwork when it suits. Top phrases that come to mind are...

Vaughan's "emm-oh-gee" or even "put it in the cash flow".
Adele's, "I-know-right?!".

Tea pop up shop

Pop ups. Seems to be the buzz word about town over the last year. However, last weekend we visited the Third Drawer Down "pop-up" as part of the Sydney Biennale (by which it's listed as an attraction!) and we were utterly disappointed. The "pop-up" was more shoebox with very little product on show #popupfail.

When we think "pop-up", we think "impression". It's gotta hit the wow-button as soon as you see it. It's gotta rally the troops in. It's gotta take the experience for the brand to that uber-cool level - you with us?

These Brazilians sure know how to do it. I'm voting that we install these as mini boardrooms at 31ST HQ - you with me?

Teeny-Tiny-Munchies

Yes, we're obsessed this week with all things miniature! We are kicking ourselves with glee over all the small bites over at Spoon Fork Bacon (with recipes included - hurrah!).

These clever lasses make small food fun and most of all they are a spin on the usual mini eats. Think mini Elvis Raviolis filled with peanut butter, mini marshmellows n' a slice of banana then deep fried... hellz yeh! OR, mini pulled pork sandwiches or mini galettes with a good cup of tea. Easy to make, cute to look at and eaten in just one mouthful... ding, ding, ding!

Makes us hungry just checking in on this blog, check it out and think mini this week!

Mini Kits

We're often briefed on putting together kits or packs to get staff or trade excited about a brand or a new product. For us at 31STHQ it's all about putting together a pack that make people want to use it immediately, that speaks of quality and is a keeper.

We're after that squeal moment when they open the lid. The excited slash happiness reaction is what we're going for.

We found these little mini emergency kits and we; one love the colour, two the packaging with the little illustrations takes us there and three it's small enough to fit into our purses and pull out in any situation. Win-win-kaaa-ching! 

If only these little babies were in oz #fail.
