Simplicity

Sometimes I have a tendency to overwork design jobs. Add another graphic device, add a quirky icon or overlay a pattern - which sometimes works and other times is just there because I'm putting it in hoping it will magically make the job look better. You know the more is more graphic design block that happens sometimes...

The other day I stumbled across the images from the Antipodium for Sportsgirl lookbook and it struck a chord. It's so damn simple, utilising the slanted corners from left to rignt framing the model and drawing you eye to the clothes *ka-ching*. The FACT that those slanted corners subconsciously harp to the brand by creating an A-form. Then adding in a contrasting image which is *bang-on* trend at-the-mo. Ahhhhh, lookbook love.

The moral of the story, don't overwork it baby. Be clever. Be simple. And remember what the focus is.
