Design for Vehicles

At 31STHQ each day is different. Some days we are brainstorming for new campaigns, other days we may be rolling out a shopper marketing campaign or designing a brochure or logo. Sometimes, we could be just sending out final artwork.

Lately, we've been wrapping a lot of vehicles. Yes, we really can design anything here.

We've just finished wrapping this ute for Bacardi Oakheart.

And this tram for Unilever specifically for Rexona F1.

This is an oldie but we've also wrapped a mini. Cute hey?!
So if you've ever thought can 31ST:SECOND help us with that? Just call us or shoot us an email, no problem is too big (or small) for us!

We WON an AdNews Award!

Our small lil agency reached a LARGE milestone last night...

We at 31ST are thrilled to announce that we have WON our first AdNews Award for 'Small Agency of the Year, 2012'!!!

The win was completely unexpected, as there were many great agencies vying for the title – but we are honoured to be recognised for our (reasonably new 3-year old) company's huge achievements and growth for the past year.

Dressed up to the nines with our frocks and heels (and suits for our 3 boys) – everybody in the 31ST team attended the Award ceremony, along with the big wigs of the advertising industry.

We were treated to a delicious sit down dinner, while the absolutely hilarious Julia Morris MC'd the event – she had us in stitches the whole night!

In summary we had an awesome night to mark a great year. We would like to thank our lovely clients, business partners, suppliers, work mates, friends, families, loved ones and even our pets for this achievement.

Check out our some of our happy snaps below.
More photos will be posted on our Facebook page next week... Watch this space.

Innovative Floor Decals

Creative, humorous, eye catching, interactive and sometimes a little unexpected – the use of innovative floor decals are a successful tool for many brands to raise its brand and market awareness, as well as promoting product benefits.

For example, who doesn't imagine going on a holiday when faced with a photo realistic decal of a beach scene on their peak-hour train floor or ski slopes on a bus terminal floor (refer to images below)?

The other great things about decals are they are easily customisable in shape, size, finishes (they can even produce decals that use projections, LED and scents!) and placement areas – which can vary from supermarket aisles, sidewalks, outside store areas, shopping centres, train/bus stations, stairs, escalators... the possibilites are endless!

We at 31ST have created creative decals for our clients in the past, so if you want to know more about decals – we're happy to answer your questions  :-)

Otherwise check out some of our favourite innovative floor decal examples from around the world, that will get you thinking... Enjoy!

Good design in a small package

Good design can be everywhere, as creatives our eyes are open 24-7. Even simple things like grocery shopping, posting a letter or shopping for some new jeans can turn into a creative 'ding' moment or spark a thought to current briefs at 31stHQ or proactive ideas for existing clients.

We are always 'switched on' per-say.

Insert this little freebie, we picked up at Maple on King St Newtown. It's so well designed, informative and has a 'concept' which some of these freebies often lack. Promoting the suburbs in the inner city, this A6 sized brochure has a map on each suburb slice and a few pages of what's hot, where to eat, attractions and things to do. Love. Even better the cover folds out to a map of all these suburbs with a summary of each slice on reverse. Genius. Great design and initiative from the City of Sydney.

Perfect little booklet to take on ya bike, utilise the bike lanes and explore the slices of Sydney.
Pick one up and check it out.

Made to be together... Gavin Worth

Art & homes, it's like tea & biscuits (scotch fingers or a crown please) or peanut butter & jelly - they're just made to be together.

The other day we found our ideal piece of art for the home. It's not your typical poster print or canvas, but a la sculpture. Modern and sleek of course. These wire sculptures by Gavin Worth are so simple. But it's the minimalistic quality of the bent wire and the graphic nature which appeals most to us. Love. Can someone buy us one for the office or the home?

We know the perfect spot to put it... Totes! Happy Friday y'all. Beer-it-on.

Lunch Break with Lunch Slices

You know the saying. Take a break, have a Kit Kat. Well that ritual is rife at 31stHQ and even though it may not be a Kit Kat per say, it usually is a sweet of some sort, in the form of chocolate.

Now that summer's callin' we're trading the chocolate for a healthier n' heartier snack... a Lunch Slice. It comes in 4 flavours and tastes great all on its lonesome or with some avo and tomato or whatever tickles your fancy really! Lucky for us, we just so happened to work on this campaign over the last few months. In case you haven't spotted these in the supermarkets, look out for our work* and this flavour (it's the best one).

*31st second's creative work involved the in store activations and point of sale only.

Colour Trends: The Rainbow

We're seeing an array of colours flood into the design world alongside fashion and food. Seems like it's not all about blues or yellows but a myriad of geometric colour - rainbow hues. It's getting us all revved up for the summer season ahead. Hello Kaftans, headscarves and thongs. We. Can't. Wait.

Bluejuice Spring & Summer are on the way!

We're excited and we know you are too. Whilst putting together the latest Bluejuice Spring/Summer 2012 campaign at 31stHQ it reminded us of the season just around the corner. Daylight savings, day dresses, thongs from day to night and lazy Sundays at the beach... getting us seriously in the mood for all things hot, short and brightly coloured.

The clothes and colour palette has US excited, to see more head over to the Bluejuice online store to pick up some of these beauties or instore nationally at all Myer stores.

Meanwhile, you can just enjoy some of our latest work - hot of the press!
